Terms of use
for the tuluu app and the purchase of ToiletTickets · Last updated: 20 October 2026
This English version is provided for information. Only the German version is legally binding.
1. Provider and scope
These terms apply to the tuluu app for iOS and Android and related web services (“tuluu”). The provider is tuluu GmbH, Haingrabenstr. 28, 60488 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, represented by its Managing Director Helmut Fortunato, Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main, HRB 122387, email support@tuluu.app. Separate contracts apply to tuluu partners, cities and companies.
2. tuluu services
tuluu shows publicly accessible toilets on a map: public toilets, contract toilets and toilets of tuluu partners. For partner toilets you can buy a ToiletTicket in the app. Information about public toilets comes from public sources, operators and users; we maintain it carefully but cannot guarantee that opening hours, facilities, accessibility or availability are always correct. Public toilets are used under their operators' conditions only. Location display depends on your device and may be inaccurate. Toilets are listed by distance and by the filters you choose. tuluu partners are businesses; statutory consumer rights apply. Downloading and using the app is free; costs arise only for ToiletTickets and your mobile data.
3. User account and guest access
Searching for toilets works without an account. Buying ToiletTickets and saving vouchers requires an account, for example created with your phone number. Accounts are available from age 14; minors need consent from a parent or guardian. One account per person. Keep your details accurate and your login confidential. If you suspect misuse or lose your device, write to support@tuluu.app and we can block the account for your protection.
4. ToiletTicket
Showing a partner toilet is not yet a binding offer. Tapping the purchase button is a binding offer; the contract is concluded when the app confirms the purchase. The contract for using the toilet is made between you and the tuluu partner. tuluu arranges this contract, collects the payment in the partner's name and on its behalf, provides the ToiletTicket and is your contact for questions, complaints and refunds. Buy a ToiletTicket only when you are nearby and the toilet shows as available. A ToiletTicket allows one use of up to 15 minutes, is valid for the time shown in the app and is not transferable. Depending on the location you show it to the staff or open the door via the app. If you cannot use the toilet despite a valid ticket (for example it is broken, occupied for a long time, or the door does not open), we refund the price. Please report this right away in the app or to support@tuluu.app.
5. Prices and payment
The price shown in the app before purchase applies and includes VAT. It is due on conclusion of the contract and paid with the methods offered in the app, for example PayPal or card, processed by external payment providers whose terms also apply. If a payment fails for reasons you are responsible for, we may charge our actual costs; you may prove lower or no costs.
6. Vouchers
With a ToiletTicket you usually receive a voucher from the partner or another issuer named in the app (for example a shop or a city: City-Bon). It can only be redeemed with that issuer. Value, minimum order and validity are shown in the app; vouchers are usually valid for up to twelve months and are redeemed once by showing them in the app. Vouchers are not paid out in cash. The claim to redemption lies against the issuer; we help with problems at support@tuluu.app.
7. Using the toilets
Treat the toilet with care, leave it clean and follow the operator's rules; the operator's house rules apply. Smoking, drug use, sexual acts, any use other than toilet and hygiene purposes, and damaging or tampering with fittings, locks or technology are not allowed. Leave when you are done or when the operator asks you to for a valid reason. Report faults or heavy soiling to the operator or via the app, and accidents immediately to the operator and, if necessary, emergency services. Check accessibility details in the app and on site. You are liable for damage you culpably cause under statutory law.
8. User content and reports
You may suggest toilets, add details, report faults and upload photos. Only upload content you have the rights to; photos must not show identifiable people or number plates. You grant tuluu a simple, free and unlimited right to use, edit and display this content in the app and to pass it on to operators and cities where needed to fix problems or plan facilities. You can report illegal content to support@tuluu.app; we review reports promptly, remove illegal content and inform those affected of our decision with reasons.
9. App rules
Tampering with the app or locks, bypassing payment, reverse engineering where not permitted by law, automated queries and any use that disrupts tuluu or harms others are prohibited.
10. Suspension, termination and deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app or by email. We may terminate with two weeks' notice; termination without notice for good cause remains possible, especially for false information, sharing login details, payment default after a reminder, tampering, or serious or repeated breaches of section 7. Instead of terminating, we may temporarily block an account; we will tell you why and lift the block once the reason no longer applies.
11. Liability
We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and under any guarantee. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to typical, foreseeable damage; otherwise liability for slight negligence is excluded. The operator is responsible for the condition, cleanliness and operation of a toilet. The app and digital door opening also depend on mobile networks, devices and third-party services; if a ticket cannot be used for this reason we refund the price.
12. Right of withdrawal for consumers
Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded. To exercise it, inform us (tuluu GmbH, Haingrabenstr. 28, 60488 Frankfurt am Main, Germany, phone +49 172 663 2228, email support@tuluu.app) of your decision by a clear statement (for example a letter or email). You may use the German model withdrawal form in the German version, but you do not have to. Sending your notice before the period expires is sufficient.
Effects of withdrawal. We will refund all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than fourteen days after receiving your notice, using the same means of payment, free of charge. If you asked for the service to begin during the withdrawal period, you must pay an amount proportionate to what has been provided until you informed us.
Early expiry. The right of withdrawal expires once the service has been fully performed if you expressly agreed before it began that we start before the withdrawal period ends and acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal on full performance. We obtain this consent when you buy a ToiletTicket in the app. A ToiletTicket is fully performed once the toilet has been used. tuluu also receives withdrawals on behalf of the tuluu partner and handles refunds.
13. Changes to these terms
Each purchase is governed by the terms available in the app at the time of purchase. If we change these terms for existing accounts, we will inform you beforehand in the app or by email; the changes apply only once you accept them in the app. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account free of charge at any time.
14. Privacy
See our privacy notice.
15. Consumer dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. For questions or complaints, write to support@tuluu.app.
16. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country of their habitual residence. If you are a merchant or a legal entity under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Frankfurt am Main.
